Unscented candles are the traditional candles. Candles have a long history and were at one time quite the necessary piece of equipment to have. They lit many nights across the world and in some parts of the globe are a welcome relief from the darkness. Candles with wicks have been dated back to Roman times. The early candles were made with tallow gathered from cattle. These candles were replaced with Beeswax candles which burned much cleaner, but were much more expensive. Today Beeswax candles are still in production and still among the most expensive of candles
Did you know that ?
The first scented candles were created by colonial American women. They discovered Bayberry could be melted down and used in the place of beeswax, these scented delights were very expensive, and a lot of people complained about the scent.
