I discovered colorful, unscented tapers while exploring the web at https://millenniumcandles.com about a month ago. I purchased their 10", 12", and 15"! Don't be fooled by their website; the tapers are gorgeous, available in a variety of colors, and as an added bonus shipping is FREE and they ship super super fast.. We were able to order the candles straight from them, and not only in a wider range of colors, but they were also substantially less expensive. So we got a bunch and began burning them every evening simply because they were less expensive/easier to replace.
I'm really sensitive to perfumes, therefore I can't burn scented candles for very long/too close to where I'm hanging out, and I avoid powerful candles totally. And, because I'm used to unscented taper candles, I've always seen of them as something you use to the mood first and foremost, rather than for decoration. I think of fragrance-free tapers as a really attractive decorative item and a method to set a mood since they're so exquisite and the colors are so nice. (They're also a fairly good light source!) That's incredible!) You can fire a lot at once and leave them burning for a few hours without getting a migraine because they don't have a scent.
I'm also really liking that unscented tapers as an affordable way to decorate for different seasons; we started with brighter colors (like fresh green, basil, daffodil, autumn yellow, yellow, orange, bittersweet, cinnamon, coral, berry, pink, rosewood this summer and are now transitioning to fall hues (like Sea breeze, willow green, slate grey, purple, pale lavender, lavender, medium blue, light blue, cobalt blue, slate blue, dark green, holiday green, and black). I ordered several boxes of Millennium Candles last month and sent them to friends as part of a fall care package. (I'd want to give a shout-out to them for that fast free shipping!) Our pals Jeff and Cherry nicely styled the pomegranate, ivory, chocolate and colonial ivory tapers we send
them .
The thing I enjoy best about taper candles is that they have forced me to let go of my attachment to lovely but ultimately transient objects. Candles, face masks, and diaries are all items I've been guilty of keeping for some "special" future use, to the point that I don't let myself appreciate them. It's been fun to purchase these candles and give myself permission to light them just for fun.
